Eligibility and entry instructions

How to enter

Entries can be self-nominated or nominated by a third party.

To enter the Wind Investment Awards, simply follow these 3 steps:

1. Select the categories and register

Firstly you'll need to register on our system (Evalato). Upon registration, you'll be asked to select the categories you'd like to enter.

If you're a member of A Word About Wind you must enter your dedicated promo code when registering to secure your free entries. If you don’t know your code, please contact the client services team on +44 (0) 20 7100 1616 / +1 917 310 3307 or email membership@awordaboutwind.com.

Once successfully registered, you’ll receive an email with your PIN and a link to your applicant portal to access your entries.

2. Fill in the entry form via your online portal

You’ll need to complete the online entry form providing details of the company, team, individual, deal, or innovation that you are entering. Entries can be saved as a draft, and you may continue working on your unfinished submissions at a later time.

The total word limit is 1,000 words per entry. This is split between the main questions (objectives, work examples, challenges, achievements, why should you win). We estimate that each entry will take around 4 to 8 hours to complete.

3. Submit your entry

When you've finished your entries, simply click submit.

Once an entry has been submitted, our editorial and content team will review the information provided. We'll contact you if more information is required prior to final approval. Once approved you'll receive an email confirmation.

You will be able to make edits to your entries at any point before the deadline of Friday 21st August.

•  Entry forms have a specific limited number of characters allowed for each field. Please note that spaces count towards the character limit.
•  Entry questions are dependent on your chosen category, so please take care when filling out each entry form. If the information provided on your entry form does not match your category selection, your entry may be rejected and may not be judged.

FILE UPLOAD FORMATS

All files must not exceed 20MB each.
Supporting materials can be provided in Word, PDF or JPEG formats. Videos cannot be uploaded via the entry form/online portal. If you wish to provide videos as your supported material, please include a link to the URL field in your entry form. Zip files cannot be accepted.

THE JUDGING PROCESS

Judges will read and pre-score all entry forms, considering any supporting materials submitted. Judges will be asked to give a score for each question within the entry form. These will be combined to give an overall score for each entry. All judges’ pre-scores will then be combined, and only the highest scoring entries will determine the shortlists.
Judges will e-meet to discuss the highest scoring entries and then agree on the winner for each category. The shortlists will be announced on Monday 5th October. The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on Tuesday 17th November.

CONFIDENTIALITY

All materials will remain confidential to the judges. Winning case studies may be used in post-event materials to promote best practice, but permission will be sought from entrants before publishing these.
